This is Mac...
Bryan and I got Mac when we lived in Oklahoma, shortly after getting Chloe. We decided Chloe needed a playmate. Mac was also a little more than just a playmate. He took the role of being her brother, protector, and playmate. Mac held a special place in everyones heart, especially Bryan and I. He was a 5 year old yorkie with an under-bite that made him look like he was always smiling. Before we had kids Mac and Chloe were our kids, we took them everywhere we went, they would travel with us, go on walks with us and so much more. Mac was known for jumping out of the car when the window was down to low, loved to play with his rope, and loved attention.
In May of 08 Bryce was born, Mac's shine was taken away...he now had to fight for attention from the "NEW BABY"...in September 09 Isaac was born...another "NEW BABY" for Mac to compete with.
As time went on Mac started getting more out spoken about everything. For example when the kids would cry he would start crying as well, he would bark at every little thing to make sure Bryan and I were aware of what was going on around the house, as if we didn't know what was going on. It got to the point where Mac was growling at Bryan went Bryan went to pick him up. We just excused it as if he was getting old, and annoyed by people. Well, one Saturday morning the mail carrier came to our door for a signed delivery, and like any other time someone rang the doorbell I opened the door and let the dogs out to see who was out there. Mac attacked the mail carriers leg. Bryan and I knew that was the last hint we had to take. It was time for Mac to find a home without kids. We found a small dog rescue and email them Saturday night, within 5 minutes of sending the email I received an email back saying they would accept him and where we could drop him off the following day. It all happened so fast, Bryan and I weren't sure if we were making the right decission, but after a good night's sleep and rethinking everything we knew in our hearts that Mac would be better off without kids and all the attention.
Sunday morning came and off to church we went, and after church it was time to take Mac to his new owners (shelter, until they found him a good home). Bryan and Bryce took him up to Petsmarts where the non-profit organizer was setup for the day adopting some other foster dogs out. Bryan felt very good about letting Mac go. All the other dogs were freshly groomed, all had sweaters on, and were well taken care of. As hard as it was to let our "baby" go, we couldn't take the chance of something happening to one of the kids.
Two days passed and I could not stop thinking about Mac, and wondering if he had been adopted out or if he was still being fostered. I emailed the organization ask for an update on Mac... preparing myself for the worst. Checking my emails every five minutes, because I knew they responded quickly to my first email. It was about 11pm and I got an email back from the lady! Mac was adopted out shortly after Bryan and Bryce dropped him off by a single lady, so wanted a dog that could go every where with her, and that could sleep with her. WOW, if that couldn't of been better news! That is right up Mac's alley...go everywhere, and sleep in the bed with a human...what more could a dog ask for? After that email there was not a question in our minds that we did the right thing for our family. We miss him every much, and we always will! Mean while Chloe has been spoiled by sleeping in the bed with us and getting to travel with us anytime we head across town to visit family.
Isaac...
Welcome to Isaac's world. Isaac is now 16 months old and has been a very quick learner from his brother. Bryce and Isaac are as different as night and day...it amazing Bryan and I how different two kids can be from the same parents, and the same upbringing. Little bit about Isaac, he loves to eat, he loves to be held, he loves to climb, he loves to make messes, he loves hats, he loves his binki, he is a pretty happy kid as long as he is doing something. The picture above is a normal day for Isaac...finding whatever he can to climb on. He found daddy's new smoker and thought he would check it out, but couldn't figure out how to get back down after he was done.
Picture 2 and 3 this is Isaac after he pulled an UNOPENED bag of ziploc bags out of the pantry and figured out how to open the box. Thank goodness it was only a box of 25 bags and not 125 bags.
Picture 4 Isaac climbing on the toy organizer in the living room trying to fit himself in the small hole.
Picture 5 after math of Isaac getting into the pantry and opening a brand new container of bread crumbs seal and all.
Picture 6 Isaac with his hammer in his pants. He loves hammers, or anything that will make a little noise. He walks around most of the day with a hammer in hand and hammers on anything in sight just to make noise.
This kids causes me A LOT of extra work and cleanup, but I love this kid like no one else could!
January 11, 2011
It was a day of celebration and sadness. Celebration for 2 different reasons...one it was my mom's birthday! Happy Birthday Mom!
We also lost Bryan's grandfather McGee on this day. He had became septic the night before, and the Lord decided it was time for him to go and be with Jesus. It was very sad, and but very happy. He was able to make it back home from the hospital before he passed, and he had everyone that loved and cared for him around his bedside as he passed on into his new life.
His service was very touching as the military honor guard honored him by playing taps, and presented Grandmother McGee with an American flag. What an honor it was to know him for the 6 years I did get to know him. He will be missed!
Bryce the marshmallow man!
After being on the run all last week, our house was wrecked. So Monday morning was house cleaning day, and usually on house cleaning days the morning starts off with TV for Bryce. Bryce was watching Handy Manny and as I am moping the kitchen floor he insist of having "A" marshmallow. After bugging me until I finished the floor I finally gave in and gave him a marshmallow. Continued cleaning and I assumed he was just eating the marshmallow...and look over and this is what I find. He told me that he was doing the same thing as Handy Manny. I could not stop laughing at him, it took us forever to get all the dried crusted marshmallow off his head.
Isaac's first hair cut.
Once again the boys are totally different from each other. Bryce had his first hair cut at age 6 months, Isaac on the other hand just got his first hair cut.
Grandpa McGee cuts all the boys hair, Bryce has been doing it for so long now he is use to the clippers and the sounds and sitting still. Isaac didn't know what to think of the whole experience. First of all it didn't like being held down, he wants to be free and on his own, secondly he didn't like the sound of the clippers right next to his head...so Grandpa decided to use scissors, not sure if that was easier or harder for Grandpa. Isaac ended up getting is finger clipped from trying to grab the scissors out of Grandpa's hand. Needless to say his first hair cut looks AWESOME. :)
Hello Weekend
On the weekends Bryan wakes up and wants to eat right when he rolls out of bed. Father like son Isaac is the same way. You better have food ready to put in that boys mouth or he is going to start his day off on the wrong foot. Well, on the weekends Bryan likes to have a big breakfast most of the time. He hates my quick pancakes that I always feed the kids, so that leaves a few other things that are reasonable easy to make first thing in the morning. On this morning I let Bryan sleep in so I know a had a few extra minutes to prepare breakfast for him. Bryce and I made daddy the worlds largest cinnamon roll....ok well maybe not the "worlds largest", but The McGee's largest cinnamon roll. It's was pretty yummy to say the least!

I am just now catching up with all of your blogs. They are amazingly funny. I can't tell you enough what a great Mom you are. Those boys, and Bryan are very lucky. I love you, Mom
