Playing catch-up since April...
These last few months at the McGee house have been pretty crazy busy.
May was the close of another semester for Bryan at ASU. He took math classes all summer at the community college in the evenings. That was a big change for the boys and I to be spending the evenings without daddy. Thank goodness it was only 2 days a week and not more. With that behind us he started his final semester 2 weeks ago, and if all goes well he will be graduating in December with his MASTER'S DEGREE!!!! Huge accomplishment for him, you never realize how hard something is going to be until you start it. Bryan has done an amazing job at balancing being an AMAZING daddy to 3 boys under the age of 3, successful in is work, and WONDERFUL husband and so much more all while going to school full time!
May 9th our little B-man turned 3! Hard to believe that my baby is already 3, wow does time fly! We had a small birthday celebration with a few of his friends on his actual birthday. His cake of choice this year was Wall-e. Special birthday dinner and night out with mommy, daddy, Noni, and Ike included Jimmy Buffett's Restaurant, at Westgate. Following dinner we walked over to Ride Makerz and he built his very own Monster RC Car Light McQeen.
June was a pretty quiet month, Bryan finished up summer school and we did all we could to stay cool. Bryan and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary! BIG thanks to grandma and grandpa for watching the kids for us for a weekend so we could slip off to CA. We enjoyed ourselves staying in Palm Spings Private resort the first night. The next morning woke up enjoy breakfast poolside and the hit up the palm springs outlet mall. By sun down we found ourselves in our favorite spot in CA...San Diego!
While in San Diego we hit up some of our favorite place...Anthony's Fish Grotto right on the bay, made a special stop at The USS Midway for a coffee cup and shot glass just for my daddy! Bryan surprised me with a wonderful dinner at Carver's Prime Rib Restaurant and waiting at our table was 2 dozen pink roses! Gotta love the man!!!
July, well not much to say about July other than it was HOT HOT HOT and miserable for me being 8 months pregnant!
August, we hit record heat for 15+ days in a row, but we did have lots of monsoons come through in the evenings. I think monsoons are the only thing we look forward to during the summer months. The rain is always a nice thing to have in the desert, and the cool down makes it a little easier to go outside once the sun is down. The boys have had a really hard time this summer understand that we live in the desert where it is 110+ everyday and you can't just play outside. Many of afternoons Bryce and Isaac would beg me to go outside so, I finally just started saying "yes'...it wouldn't be 5 minutes and they were back in with beat red faces and asking for water. Bryce figured out it's not any fun to play in the water either, because the water comes out boiling hot. So, needless to say we will all be glad when the cooler months arrive!
We had 2 huge events happen in our household in the month of August...one was Bryce started preschool. He is going to Montessori of Surprise 5 days a week for 3 hours. Everyday is a struggle for him to go, but I'm hoping that someday that struggle will disappear. He is a big mama's boy and every morning he tells me I want to stay home with you mama. Breaks my heart, but parents do know best. ~sorry Bryce! Our second big event in our family is that our family grew by one! Brock was born on 8-31-2011 at 2:13pm. He was born as a very healthy baby boy weighing in at 8lbs even and 19 3/4 long. Instead of opting for the induction to know exactly when he would arrive we waited it out and he came when he was ready to come. He was 1 week over due. Made it hard for Noni, Grandma and Grandpa McGee...Noni didn't know when to book her flight to come out, Grandma and Grandpa McGee didn't know if it was the right time to sneak out for a finally camping trip of the year, but it all worked. Noni was here just long enough for us to come home from the hospital. Unfortunately Grandma and Grandpa McGee were gone on their labor day vacation with Aunt Carole and Uncle Ron.
Delivery Story... We were schedule for an induction for Thursday 9/1/11, by doctor was not willing to let me go into 42 weeks of pregnancy. Tuesday night I told Bryan you better go to bed and get some good sleep, because I'm not sure how long you will get to sleep. I was feeling like something was happening, but wasn't having regular contractions. Wednesday morning Bryan woke up super early and went to work at 4am, I was sleeping on and off from 4 to 6am. At 6 am I knew today was the day. I started timing my contractions they were 3-5 minutes apart. I call Bryan at work and he was just waiting for the go head to leave work. Around 7:45 I decided it was time for Bryan to come home and we needed to go to the hospital. We checked into the L&D at 930am, we were in a room by 10am and the process was in full swing. My goal for this pregnancy to was try to go without having an epidural. I made it all the way until the last 20 minutes of my labor process. I could not take the back labor that I was having, and I had no idea how much longer I was going to be in labor, so I went forth with the epidural. After getting my epidural my doctor broke my water and said I'll be back to check you again in an hour at this time I was 6cm. It wasn't 2 minutes after the doctor walked out of the room I was telling Bryan this baby was coming out, and he needed to call the doctor back. Sure enough I was checked again and Baby Brock was coming out with very little time to prepare for anything. Nurses were rushing around trying to get everything in order, meanwhile the doctor and nurses was telling me hang in there DON'T push...LOL After 4 LONG pushes Brock was welcomed into this world! Amazing delivery, couldn't have asked for a better one.
