February 2011

February has brought nothing but cold weather. We went from being in the 70's to being in the 30's. With it being so cold we have been trying to find things to do during the day to prevent from getting cabin fever.

Straw Painting

Painting is always something the boys agree to do. I think anything that involves making a mess they would be up for. Last week we finger painted and they loved it, Bryce painted a picture of Daddy and him playing on the trampoline along with the sky and the grass...very impressive for a 2 year (or at least I think so). So, this week I thought we would switch up the painting and try straw painting. It's a pretty neat way of painting, and Bryce really enjoyed it. Isaac on the other hand couldn't figure out to blow through the straw. So he made up his own way of blowing and just decided to call it hot and blow on it. Very cute I must say!

Bryce's art work...orange is Daddy and Bryce, Yellow is trampoline, blue sky, green grass
Isaac's art work...we will call it a rainbow.

MONSTER JAM

Bryce and daddy have been talking about Monster Jam for 2 months, and the day finally came. Bryce was so excited to be able to see the monster trucks in real life. It was a guys night with Bryan, Grandpa (Dave), and Bryce. I think Grandpa made Bryce's night more than anything, by buying him a Digger Digger hat. He wore his hat all night without taking it off once! Digger came out to perform and during his performance he lost a tire so Bryce thought it was only fair if his hat lost a tire to.

Isaac...
He is the funniest kid you will meet. I gave him and Bryce a banana for breakfast and Bryce is busy eating his banana, while Isaac is in the cabinet where I keep all my plastic containers searching for the perfect bowl to put his banana in. He ended up with a salsa dish and watching him trying to get his banana out of the salsa dish was bring a few laughs from Bryce and I.

New Family Member

This is sergeant, named by Bryce. This is our army guy with grass for hair. Bryce was so happy to see our little friend finally got some hair!

Starting Valentine's Early

We started Valentine's early this year, by making decorating cupcakes with our friends. Bryce was more interested in playing with all the toys at the Stauss house, but you can beat your bottom dollar Isaac was right in the middle of the food.

Bye Bye Binki's

18 months is coming around pretty quick for Isaac, and that is the time when you are a big boy. Which means no more binki's for big boys. Bryce lost his binki at 18 months so it is only fair to do the same to Isaac. The only problem is Isaac LOVES his binki. He doesn't leave the room without it either in his mouth or hand. The only thing that can substitute a binki is food. So, we have started slow and easy on him...he can have his binki while he is in his bed during nap time and bed night. Needless to say Isaac has been on the fussy side of things lately. It will be very interesting to see what he picks up to replace his binki. For Bryce it was his blankets, he wouldn't sleep without his blankets and still to this day he sleeps with 3 blankets that are all the same.
